COVID-19: It’s all a bit different, but the church is alive!

Weekly Prayer Points

Collect for this week – 19th Sunday after Trinity
(18th October)

Almighty God, you called Luke the physician, whose praise is in the gospel, to be an evangelist and physician of the soul: by the grace of the Spirit and through the wholesome medicine of the gospel, give your Church the same love and power to heal; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Prayer Points for this week

We give thanks for:

  • God’s healing power in our lives
  • The life, hope and joy available to all who will turn to Christ Jesus
  • The Alpha course that is running well

We pray for:

  • Graciousness: that we would learn better each day to extend the same grace God has given to us to our leaders and to each other.
  • Together we would search for God’s heart and direction during the vacancy.
  • Our Church Wardens as they take on temporary responsibility for the church in vacancy, that they have wisdom for all the decisions that will need to be made.
  • The PCC as they begin the journey of looking for a new vicar.
  • Our future incumbent, that God will be calling that person and preparing them for the position.
  • Those that have asked for our prayers at this time:
Julie B, Ben (his health and for his family at this time)  Jo & Eddie, Audrey H, Joan & Trevor C, and their son Robin, daughter-in-law Sara and granddaughter.

This week the Deanery prayers are for:

St Mary’s, Portchester
