COVID-19: The building is closed, but the church is alive!

St John’s social activities

Here at St John’s we are privileged to be able to reach out to the community including those of senior years. Here’s a rundown of what we offer. For all these gatherings, we have voluntary drivers who can provide transport.

For more information, please contact the church office.

Unfortunately, all church social activities are cancelled because of Covid-19 restrictions.

The Fellowship

It is just that, a chance to make friends, meet existing friends and have a chat over a cup of tea and biscuits. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month (2.30pm until 4.00pm) in the Church Hall, with up to 50 attending. It is for anyone, mostly retired, couples and people on their own. We have speakers on a variety of subjects. We also have day trips, an annual holiday and a superb Christmas luncheon each year.

Come along and meet us – you’ll be very welcome.

The Lunch Club

On the third Tuesday of each month, at 12.40pm in the Church Hall, people gather for a time of food, fellowship and fun. A lunch of homemade soup, roll and cheese with delicious homemade puddings and coffee to follow is provided for a very small charge. Everyone enjoys the fellowship and the short talk, hymn and a prayer, as well as the chat and the raffle. Through the raffle, Lunch Club has been able to donate regularly to a number of good causes. Everyone is welcome.
