Interregnum

Interregnum - Following the departure of Peter Ingrams to a new role in the Canterbury Diocese, we are currently without a vicar.
The process to find a new vicar is lengthy and the PCC aim to provide information regularly. There is a notice board dedicated to the interregnum in the Grove Room.

Interregnum Update – 18th May 2008.

Three candidates were interviewed for the post of Vicar here at St John’s in mid-May.  After much prayer and thought, the panel’s unanimous decision was that none of the candidates who had come forward would be appointed. Put simply we just didn’t find the right person to lead our church at this time.

This is obviously very disappointing news but we believe it is better to wait for the person God is truly calling to this place.  We will continue to look for that person, but in the meantime thank you for being so supportive of all involved in this process; of each other and our wider community here at St Johns.  Please continue to uphold each other in prayer in the firm belief that God will call to us the right person at the right time.

We have prepared a Parish Profile of our church that describes who we are at St John the Baptist and of the work that we are doing in God’s name.

We have written a specification that indicates the experience, skills and abilities that we are looking for in the successful candidate.
